OUR MISSION IS TO PURSUE EXCELLENCE
IN SUPERVISION AND INSTRUCTION, AND TO PROMOTE THE DEVELOPMENT
OF CURRICULUM CONSISTENT WITH QUALITY EDUCATION FOR ALL STUDENTS.
LIASCD Constitution - Ratified October 16, 2009
Purpose:
- to explore educational issues.
- to provide collegial opportunities
for professional development.
- to improve educational programs
and supervisory practices in our schools.
- to identify and share successful
and innovative practices in instruction, curriculum development
and supervision.
- to facilitate communication
among Long Island educators, the New York State Education Department,
NYSASCD and other professional groups.
What we do:
We assess the needs of our members
and identify avenues for professional growth.
We provide opportunities for
teachers, administrators,and supervisors to develop close collegial
relationships.
We sponsor two annual conferences
which brings educators together to share noteworthy programs.
We provide a forum for professionally
recognized speakers.
We are affiliated with the national
ASCD, one of the largest professional organizations in the country.
